Project Kashmir : Editor
[Feature Documentary 2005-2007]
Project Kashmir (directed by Senain Khesghi & Geeta Patel) follows Khesghi (a Muslim filmmaker born in Pakistan) and Patel (an American writer/filmmaker who is Hindu) through the labyrinth of truths and falsehoods surrounding the ongoing war between the governments, insurgents and people of Pakistan and India.
Tim Nackashi created the initial 20 minute cut of this film which screened at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival and acquired the needed ITVS funding to create Project Kashmir. Nackashi edited and consulted on the actual feature as well.

Dirty Work : Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Composer
[Feature Documentary 2004]
Dirty Work follows three men who deal with our unpleasant business -- Darrell, a septic tank pumper, Russ, a bull semen collector, and Bernard, an embalmer. They take us into worlds that are right under our noses but we never see, providing services most of us depend on but prefer not to do ourselves.
Tim Nackashi co-shot, directed, and edited Dirty Work in addition to creating the original score for the film. Co-directed with David Sampliner and executive produced by Edward Norton, Dirty Work premiered at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, was awarded Best Documentary Feature at the Atlanta Film Festival, a jury prize at BendFilm, screened at numerous festivals including SILVERDOCS, Full-Frame, and the Calgary Int'l Film Festival, and was broadcast nationally on the Sundance Channel.

Tattoo Diaries : Director, Editor
[TV Pilot 2006]
Tattoo Diaries was created as a television pilot for a reality show about people who, at important milestones in their lives, decide to embark on a trip to get their first tattoo.
Nackashi produced, directed and edited the pilot episode which was filmed at numerous locations in London, England including the 1st International London Tattoo Convention. |

Under The Spell : Director, Editor, Composer
[Feature Documentary 2004-2006]
Under The Spell explores the hidden world of three young adults who escape their normal lives by donning costumes, wielding swords, and inventing heroic personas in a Live-Action Role-Playing game (L.A.R.P.). It is a film about people whose means of escape from mundane suburban life is far from the typical TV, movies, or video games. They choose to immerse themselves in a full-blown real time fantasy. The result is a surprising and new understanding of their real selves and the real world around them. Nackashi co-shot and directed with Crystal Wooten, and edited segments of Under The Spell for screenings at IFP/NY and as a featured work-in-progress on various television outlets. |
